Carrossa eager to build on flying start

Carrossa is ready to build on its flying start after exceeding expectations in its first year of business.

Situated in the north east of Mallorca near the historic town of Artà, the five-star resort with just 75 luxurious rooms and suites, opened in May 2018 and has proved an attractive new destination for those looking to discover an authentic Mallorcan experience in stunning surroundings.

Set against the backdrop of the rolling hills of Llevant and offering breathtaking views of the bay of Alcúdia, it is an ideal location for golfers with four of Mallorca’s leading courses – Club de Golf Alcanada, Son Servera, Capdepera, Canyamel – within easy reach and offering preferential green fees to Carrossa guests.

But with the hotel industry a notoriously competitive market for new additions, the owners are now eager to build on the Carrossa’s blossoming reputation.

Peter Hamacher, director of sales and marketing for owners Hamacher Resorts, said: “We were always positive thinkers and there was good expectation before we opened. Every new start is a different adventure and Mallorca was a new and exciting project.

“But it has gone even better than we planned with occupancy rates at around 70 per cent for the second half of the season – well above what we were expecting in the first year of business.

“We’ve established some great relationships with customers and our golf course partners are very happy with the new partnerships. It is an excellent start but now it is an opportunity for the future to build on those positive foundations.”

“There has been good interest from Germany and Austria but we are seeing more and more Spanish and UK guests who have been attracted by the authentic region of Mallorca. The Carrossa is a luxury experience and the authentic feel of this region of Mallorca will appeal to all nationalities.”

Carrossa is home to a stunning 1,500mstate-of-the-art wellness centre, which has been built and designed to the highest specification with saunas, steam bath, ice fountain, and a wide selection of massage, beauty and special treatments, as well as a high-tech gym.

The former manor ground gardens of Carrossa are also home to an inviting heated outdoor panoramic infinity pool and deck that provides the perfect setting for relaxing under the Mediterranean sun.

Carrossa’s fine cuisine offers a range of sophisticated international and local dishes in the fine-dining Restaurant Carrossa, or an extensive choice of dishes in the more informal Bistro Badia, both of which deliver panoramic views from the terrace.

The Hamacher family, have ensured the intimate feel and the estate’s building and gardens have retained their natural charm with some extra touches set to be added during the winter in readiness for the 2019 season.

Hamacher said: “Guests will see even more minor improvements in 2019 when we re-open in February and we have listened carefully to all of the feedback. There will be an opportunity for work on landscaping and for the gardens to mature and there are other exciting projects we are working on, which we will announce in due course.”
