It's Shootout Time!!

Best odds for the 'Scramble-tastic' Franklin Templeton

To be honest, the Spiv thought the season was over until January...then, before I knew it, GP's Editor was on the blower asking where the odds for the Shootout are?! "What shootout?" I said. I won't tell you what he said next... Anyway, here's the lowdown. On The Franklin Templeton Shootout...

The Franklin Templeton Shootout. 12 teams of two playing scramble, alternate shot then best ball. Cracking little event by the sounds of things. The Team of Harris English and Matt Kuchar lead after the first day's scramble but with two interesting days of golf to go...this could be anyone's. So with that in mind here are the Spiv's one's to watch.

Billy Horschel and Hunter Mahan. 7/1 PaddyPower

"Hang on, you're not Hunter Mahan!"

Only one shot behind English and Kucher but with great odds. 7/1 from PaddyPower to win outright. These two look like a good pairing. With the odds slashed on English and Kucher this could be a good payout compared to English and Kucher measly 2/1 odds.

Cameron Tringale and Camillo Villegas. 14/1 PaddyPower

"Hang on, you're not Camilo Villegas!"

Tringale won this event last year with partner Jason Day. He knows what to do win and can guide his new playing partner well with the format. PaddyPower are currently offering 14/1 on this pair who are currently two shots behind. What's more Each way is going at 1/4 odds up to third place...that's better than Kucher and English to win. Might be worth a good Each way here.

Jason Dufner and Brandt Snedeker. 16/1 Skybet

"Yawn,.. these 'Hang On You're Not so and so' captions are getting old..."

These two combined should be a class act and only three shots off the pace at the end of day one. Ryder Cup pals who just need a sniff on the last day to make it count. 16/1 on Skybet must be worth a go given the calibre of these two.

Charles Howell III and Rory Sabbatini. 33/1 Skybet

"Hang on a minute,.. we're not even playing this year..."

For those of you who like great odds then this pairing is for you. 33/1 on Skybet...33/1! Only 4 shots off the lead and 33/1...If you ever wanted someone to root for it's these guys even as a Each Way bet. Both men are making their 8th appearance at the shootout so they have experience of how this format works.

Spiv will be back in the New Year when we kick off again for a another great year. In the meantime...I'm off to get me some bootleg booze for Christmas. Have a merry one everyone.

**Apologies for the random pics. Getty don't seem to be covering this year's event!!
