Stewart Golf post record year

Driven by sales of X Series trolleys

Stewart Golf have once again broken their own records by posting spectacular 37% growth for 2016/17.

Underpinning the headline figure is growth of 57% in sales of X Series electric trolleys, and 29% growth in sales of the R1-S Push trolley. The record output has occurred in a year where the company purchased and moved in to a new £1m factory, which brought its own challenges.

MD David Funnell said: “Consolidating our 2 old sites in to one new one was not easy, especially when it fell at the start of the golf season. It’s a really positive reflection on the whole team that this happened without any disruption to supply or dip in customer service.”

Domestically, trade sales increased by 58%. COO Robert Hardie commented: “Our continued impressive sales growth with the golf trade is testament to the excellent relationships that our sales team have built over the past few years, coupled with our increased manufacturing capability which has allowed us to become a better supplier.”

Export sales increased by 59% and now account for 40% of the output of the Gloucestershire-based manufacturing company. The United States and Canada account for a large proportion of exports, but markets such as New Zealand, Sweden, The Netherlands, South Korea and Austria are all included in a list of 37 countries that Stewart Golf have shipped to in the period.

CEO Mark Stewart added: “2016/17 has been a landmark year for Stewart Golf in many ways, but the move to the new factory is the most significant by far and puts us in an excellent position for future growth.”
